Top 10 Homeopathic Remedies

During much of the year, we have one or more farm interns living with us. Always through the course of their time with us, the homeopathic remedies come out to help with colds, allergies, insect bites or stings, and aching muscles, to name a few. One of our interns recently asked me if I consult with readers about homeopathy. She inspired me to share a little of what I’ve learned with you! I don’t claim to be an expert on homeopathy. I have however used homeopathic remedies with success for myself and my family for seven years.

Homeopathy is an alternative medicine system which uses non-toxic medications to address health problems.  Homeopathic medicines are diluted substances that trigger the body’s natural healing process. For detailed information on homeopathy, click here.

For now, I’d like to share with you the homeopathic remedies I keep on hand at all times and what our family uses them for. Below are all homeopathic medicines and should be purchased from reputable homeopathic companies like Hyland’s, Standard, NuAge, Humphrey’s, and Boericke and Tafel. We’ve purchased our medicines from all of these companies. Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find in our medicine chest:

Arnica montana, gel and tablets -  Great for bruises, sore muscles, aches and body pains. Don’t apply to open wounds. If applied immediately after injury and applied regularly thereafter, bruising, swelling and pain are greatly reduced.

Drosera – spasmodic cough. Do you ever get that persistent cough? The one that puts you in a coughing fit? Drosera is what you want.

Leg Cramps with Quinine – For muscle cramps, growing pains and headache. Helps release even intense thigh, calf and foot cramps.

Restful Legs – Awesome for Restless Leg Syndrome. Calms the need for constant movement, flexing and releasing.

Belladona – Use as a fever reducer.

Ledum Pal. and Apis Mell. – Both for bites and stings. Ledum is also good to have on hand for puncture wounds.

Euphrasia – for eye irritation and cold. I use this for pink eye and styes.

Baryta Carb. – Awesome for sore throat. We have many home remedies for this ailment though. I’ll share those with you soon.

Arsenicum Album – Have on hand for diarrhea.

Sulphur – Rashes and Eczema. Helps calm the flare-ups.

It’s good to have a lot of tricks up your sleeve to help ease illness, aches and pains. Homeopathic medicines are a safe easy way to help your body heal itself. In future posts, I’ll also discuss diet, vitamins and minerals, herbs, and other home remedies that have worked for our family.

Do you have any homeopathic remedies you keep on hand that I missed? Please leave your comments and share your experiences. I’d love to hear from you!

Is there a certain page or post you’re having trouble with? I just loaded the website and the pages I checked loaded very quickly. Perhaps there’s a problem with your service provider or your connection?

  • Hi. I think there’s some thing incorrect with your site loading speed. I hope you can fix it!

Both medicines and pollutants are bonded with water and those bonds can be broken. Pollutants can be filtered out of water. When making medicines with water, you need to use pure filtered water and sometimes distilled water. I’m definitely not an expert on homeopathy and that is not the point of the blog. I just wanted to share some of my experience with homeopathy as an organic mother.

Since this is a homeopathy blog, maybe you can answer a question no one else has. If water retains its memory of helpful medicine such as what you list above, why doesn’t it also retain its memory of the vastly larger amounts of pollutants?
